This past weekend we went to Jaipur, which is the third point of the Indian golden triangle. We loved it! Our hotel, the Sunder palace, was a very pleasant surprise. It was so beautiful, all the walls were painted with colorful Indian murals, they rooms had marble floors and the bathroom had toilet paper. I feel like mom, but the hotel was one of the best parts I gotta say. Jaipur is in the mountains, which we all had missed so badly. We went to two Hindu temples and the pink city. The best part of Jaipur was running into elephants as we were walking down the street. They came over to us and were smelling us, it was amazing!! Our faith was restored in the Indian train system as our trains were both on time. We got a sleeper car on the way home and we shared it with two guys from England. They asked if they could play music and they turned on the Beatles,, pretty cliche if you ask me. They were nice though, it was good to have some people to talk to who could share relate to how being white here makes life pretty difficult. Everyone we talk to, including ourselves, has such a love/hate relationship with India. It's so hard to process all the emotions, sites, and just stimuli that hit you all at once. You will be walking down the street, loving India, taking it all in, smiling at people who are waving and saying namaste to you, and then the next second you'll be completley overwhelmed with people peeing right next you, yelling at you to buy something from them, pinching you to give them money etc. India is a country of extremes, and it's difficult to naviage sometimes. Anyway, Jaipur was a great weekend trip! We all loved it and we're excited to explore more of this crazy country. I love you all. Namaste!
